Alaska Builders Insurance Program
Alaska Builders Insurance Program is an Alaska-owned general liability insurance program for licensed contractors. ABIP is available exclusively to members of an Alaska State Home Building Association. Only Alaska companies are provided coverage under this program. ABPIP is underwritten by Benchmark Insurance Company an A – rated admitted (approved for business in Alaska) insurance carrier.
Save Money
Your rates should drop with ABIP. Alaskans pay more with nationwide liability insurance carriers because Alaskans have a much lower claim ratio. Over the last 15 years, Alaska contractors have had a less than 3% claim rate, while other states have as high as a 75% claim rate. With ABIP, rates should drop as the program’s premiums and losses are established.
The program also allows policyholders and members to participate and have access an exclusive contractual risk management program allowing additional premium discounts.
Support Your Industry
ABIP is owned by your local Alaska State Home Building Association. Revenue from ABIP helps your local HBA’s mission of supporting the building industry. The program can also help your fellow contractors and your bottom line. When Alaska contractors have the same provider it eliminates the question over which insurance company is liable, which reduces fighting, a main driver of insurance rates.
